Crosby Loggins won tonight’s season finale of MTV’s Rock the Cradle. Crosby is the son of Grammy winner Kenny Loggins.
The final three contestants at the finale were Chloe Lattanzi, daughter of Olivia Newton-John, Jesse Blaze Snider, son of Dee Snider, and Loggins. Chloe finished third, Jesse was runner-up, while Crosby took home the winning prize.
Crosby grew up in Santa Barbara, California. He was constantly surrounded with his father’s celebrity friends such as Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Michael McDonald and Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket. On Rock the Cradle, Kenny admitted that he had been touring during a significant amount of Crosby’s childhood. Crosby was enthralled with the famous people he came to meet, but he stated that “Dad was just dad.” Crosby learned how to play the keyboard at age seven and the guitar at age 13. He knew from a young age he wanted to pursue music, but for himself, and not to follow in his father’s footsteps. He played in sporadic high school bands, but admits he was not yet ready for stardom. He spent some time away in Hawaii after his title of “Kenny Loggin’s kid” became too much. He could not escape his love for music, and after a few years of building houses, went to music school.
I know everyone was sad that that hottie Chloe didn’t win, but congrats, Crosby!
