Diablo Cody Follow-Up: Sorry, I Still Don’t Like Her (Photos NSFW)

    By Jebbica | February 27, 2008

    Diablo Cody

The other day I wrote about Oscar-winning writer Diablo Cody deciding to go all uppity on us and refusing to wear the $1 million dollar diamond-encrusted Stuart Weitzman shoes that were designed for her at the Oscars. To help my argument, Stuart Weitzman has come out with this statement:

“This year - more so than in any previous year - the lady who was given the opportunity to wear it was quite involved in the design process. Diablo Cody sent me examples of the type of shoes she liked and actually did the final selection herself…She chose to adorn the shoes with medium-sized diamond roses from three different sizes offered to her. Why she seems to be so surprised as to the attention being paid to her and these shoes, I cannot answer.”

So, she helped design them, and then acted surprised that she was supposed to wear them? I think she was probably excited for the honor, until one of her pretentious hipster buddies told her she was “selling out.” And, if you sell out, you lose all your indie street cred, and all the people who don’t take baths and wear horn-rimmed glasses won’t like you anymore.

Thankfully, she still has enough class for photos like these (NSFW):

Maybe she’ll write a cutesy smartass post about me in next week’s Entertainment Weekly.

I wonder what her lapdances were like. That’s what one of the tabloids should do–interview her regulars at Deja Vu or wherever she used to work the shiny pole. As an aficionado of peelers myself, I can’t help but wonder about this. I know she wrote a memoir about her peeler days, which I haven’t read–but that’s from HER point of view. What I want to know is what it was like for Tom, Dick and Hairy to hand over a twenty dollar bill for a three-minute dance, and what her performances were like. Just curious.
