Dora the Explorer Gets a Grown-Up Makeover
Dora the Explorer is a cute little cartoon character, but she has always been known to me as The Mismatched Kid. With her pink shirt that doesn’t fit, orange shorts, yellow socks, and purple backpack, she is hardly a fashionista. However, that is just what she’s about to be made into be!
Dora is getting a tween makeover, and she’s about to exchange topography knowledge for fashion sense. “Girls really identify with Dora and we knew that girls would love to have their friend Dora grow up with them, and experience the new things that they were going through themselves,” Mattel told the NYDN.
However, fans of Dora and mothers are not happy! One parent said, “If the Dora we knew grew up, she wouldn’t be a fashion icon or a shopaholic. She’d develop her map reading skills and imagine the places she could go. It’s such a sell out of Dora, of all girls.”
I have to say that I agree! Check out what the new Dora is going to look like after the jump!
What do you think of the new Dora?

Oh so Dora’s getting a little tarted up. Good for her! I grew up playing with stuffed animals and it didn’t turn me into a furry, so I don’t think we have anything to worry about.
I thinks its great that Dora is growing up, maybe my child can stay into dora. Because my oldest stop liking Dora when she got 5 and she’s 8 now! But what ab out everyone else?
