Out with the Old, In with the New

I find it very hard to get rid of things. But sometimes, one just has to survey her wardrobe and say, I am never going to be this thin again. And even if I DO get back into this size one day, this is so out of style that I wouldn’t wear it, anyway.
Such is Spring cleaning.
Yesterday I joined some gals on a photo shoot for Saturn and “Chattanooga’s #1 Hit Music Station,” 96.5 The Mountain. I was the only plus-sized model in attendance. And while I hope I can be some sort of inspiration to girls who aren’t a size 2, there are parts of me who felt very insecure when I opted out of the bikini shots and knew when the other girls were running around naked talking about their workout regimes, I was cowering in the corner hoping someone wouldn’t see my waist-cincher. I think it’s important to be kind to your body and live as healthy a lifestyle as you can, which has been difficult since becoming a full-time blogger, and I have resorted to spending most of the day sitting on my ass in front of my laptop. So, what is there to do about that, if I don’t like it? No sense in whining about it, might as well start trying to eat and live healthier.
But onto the wardrobe. There’s no sense in trying to be sentimental. They’re just clothes, I know! But I have a really hard time getting rid of a blouse I know someone paid $70 for, even if it’s the most hideous thing I’ve ever seen. Finally, though, after being swallowed by the flowy skirts and tank tops made from winter material and dresses bought in 1998, I’d had enough!
A cleared out closet is a cleared out mind.

It only hurts for a little while, sweetie! I promise. Love that last line, too; very Zen!
