Gravy and Biscuits Giveaway Contest!!!
Hey guys, it’s time for Gravy and Biscuits‘ first ever giveaway contest! Are you as excited as I am? Well, you should be, because I am a sucker for free stuff, and now I get to be a part of giving free stuff away!
Macy’s and its Lifestyle Brand, American Rag, launches a music-based web series that gives five ambitious college students the opportunity of a lifetime—a cross-country trip that will teach them how to realize their dream of entering the music business.
More than 750 people auditioned for the premier season of The Ragged Road web series, but only five were chosen to take the ride of a lifetime. The group will travel over 5,000 miles around the country meeting music industry innovators as they make their own path towards achieving their goals.
So, it’s a web show that’s kind of like The Real World, but with much more music. And it’s pretty nifty. Check out more details after the jump.
The final episode of Ragged Road is pretty cool because the kids get to talk about “the biz” with Benji Madden and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte. They also talk about being a “celebrity” vs. being a “rock star”…where do you think they fit in? So, to celebrate and promote this awesome show, the nice people at M80 are giving away a $25 Macy’s gift card and American Rag T-shirt to one lucky reader.
But that’s not all! I also have Gym Class Heroes‘ new CD, The Quilt, and Faith Hill’s new CD, Joy to the World, to give away to two runners-up!
Check out Gym Class Heroes’ exclusive concert and interview with Soundcheck here.

So, what’s the catch?
All you have to do is, leave a comment with a valid email address about what would you do if you were chosen to follow your dream via documentary and what it would be.
The winners will be chosen randomly from the comments. You have until November 3, 2008 to get your comments in, so bring on the stories!
The best stories will be shared here, and I will personally email the winners on November 5, 2008 and get your address so we can mail out your prize.
Winners’ names and stories will be posted on November 6, 2008.

I think my dream would be to go to a movie set or tv show set and interview the stars. Maybe like Supernatural or Heroes….I would love it all documented too! (how cheesy am I???)
It would be awesome to be on a movie set and to watch what goes on behind the scenes. It would be nerve racking to see the stars and talk to them but its also a dream to do this. how neat.
I would like to document the daily life of current NBA player LeBron James. It would be interesting to see the life of an idol.
As many know, my dream has always been to Sing. I would love to have a documentary about where I started singing in regional bands in GA, AL, and FL; then how I got that one lucky shot of being found. Also how being a single mother didn’t stop me from getting my dream. Then maybe ending the documentary with me meeting my idols, like Mariah Carey, Linda Perry, Kate Bush, or Debbie Harry. What’s life without dreams huh?
looks cool
my dream would be to have a shopping trip at macys filmed
My dream would be to have an internship with a major fashion label, filmed as a documentary. It seems like something the CW would be willing to do… I should contact them! Lol!
I love them gym class heros!
My dream documentary would be to film different religions and how they worship in theirs.
I would love it if they come follow me and together we would explore the hidden gems of my country.
my dream would be a wildlife photographer, from elephants to turtles
My dream would be to replace Bruce Dickinson in Iron Maiden, or perhaps one of the guitarists. We’d then go on a world tour of major stadiums (not small clubs) with the 150,000 watt sound system used during the PowerSlave tour. I would walk out onto stage each night with my Spandex and denim, put my foot on the monitor, and squeal like a girl. Eventually, the women in the crowd would begin chanting my name…”Brad Brown, Brad Brown…” I’d give thought-provoking song intros, and ask important questions, such as “Atlanta, Georgia….are you ready to rock….and roll?” As the night drew to a close, I’d choose three to fifteen groupies from the audience; my roadies would escort them backstage. I would wake up the next morning at 2:00pm and start it all over again.
I would like to travel to all the different parts of the world starting of course traveling across the USA experienceing different cultures and there beliefs and there food and clothes and shelter and what they have to do to survive and document it and play it in high schools to show young people that they should appriciate what they have cause someone else could have it worse them then.
I would like to travel back to Jamiaca. From a documentary perspective, this country is rich in culture and even richer in scenery and cuisine. This would be killer.
My dream is to own my own restaurant, so I think I’d want my documentary to be me interviewing famous chefs that own their own restaurants. I’d talk about how they got into cooking, what sort of schooling they went through, and how they got to finally own their own place(s).
Might give me some inspiration!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I would like to be followed by a documentary traveling across the united states with some good friends, kind of like what Oprah and her best friend Gayle did.
My dream would be to become a world class chef, BJJ artist, cellist, photographer, and a few other things
my dream would be to become a professional chef, photographer, cellist, martial artist, and a few other things
To sing all over the world or meet my favorite singers

My dream would be to work with Joss Whedon! The man is so funny, creative, and–well, brilliant–and his work constantly amazes and energizes me, as well as gives me hope. Firefly/Serenity, Buffy, and Angel are three of the best shows/movies ever, and I can’t wait to see his new stuff on Dollhouse. His particular form of drama sprinkled liberally with dry humor is something to which I would love to someday and somehow add my skills. As Kaylee says in Firefly, “Nothing in the ‘verse can stop me”!
My dream is to travel around the world to poor areas, and offer assistance to the people in any ways I can. Also to make connections with the people and learn about them and where they live. It would be great to have this as a documentary to be able to show others how some people who are less fortunate live.
I want to go mountain climbing and travelling over the world as well as learn cooking from professional chefs.
My dream would be to travel all over Europe and have it made into a documentary.
I would like to start a no kill shelter and have a documentary filmed following the process.
I would make a documentary on a fighter pilot!
My documentary would be about my travels around the world. My entire life, I have been intrigued by different cultures. And a documentary such as this would enable me to realize my dream. And to also become famous at the same time. What more could you ask for?
Ok, this may be a little off kilter from typical dreams like being a rock star, singer, or actress. I can be kind of an Internet geek – I love the communication possibilities that the Web allows. I love interactive, digital media and the way it can capture and keep attention. I think that tell stories with multimedia can teach people and entertain people in different ways than we have ever been able to before – and I think it’s so incredible that with the right tools and know-how anyone can create wonderful and engaging content in this day and age.
So, as for my dream, I hope to be able to take what I know about the possibilities of the Web and apply them to my workplace. I’d love to work for the Travel channel by blogging itineraries, creating rollover maps in Flash, or simply twittering little things that happen along the way. It would also be neat to help high fashion and trade publications with more interactive features – such a visual field really needs more on the Web, in my opinion. There are so many possibilities!
I also think that not enough people understand what goes on behind each show they watch and work that goes into all content. It would be a neat documentary to see through this process. Basically, if I could do these things that I love as a job every day, my dream would definitely be fulfilled! I’m working hard at it already!
I have been one of those who have not let many dreams get away but if I could do something it would be to be trained in wheelchair dancing and compete actively. I have MS and recently became wheelchair bound probably not to ever walk 100% again. Very discouraging but I found something else I dream of doing in the situation. Even if it was training to compete in one competition, that is my dream! It will probably happen, you never know.
Thanks for the contest!
My documentry will be with my best friend Rich. We are driving in a small hatchback car 10,000 miles from London to Mongolia this summer for charity all within 3-5 weeks. We will be spanning over ten countries, and we will sure get our selves in many wacky sitatuions!

If given this opportunity , I would be able to share my dream with the world. I would love to be able to travel to third world countries and do actual humanitarian work. I hate when groups go and try to impose their values on the culture of those they are helping. I would work with locals to help out whatever tasks needed completed: building, teaching, growing, etc. I then could share a fabulous culture and maybe inspire someone in the process.
