Here We Go Magic are set to release A Different Ship on Secretly Canadian on May 8th.  This album follows their 2012 release, The January EP.  Uber-producer Nigel Godrich became a fan after their 2010 Glastonbury set and came onboard to man the boards behind their new album.  We’ve already heard one song from the album, “Make Up Your Mind”, which you can listen to here.  Or if you want a more complete idea of the record heard over to AOL Spinner here and stream the record in its entirety.

Out more recently is “How Do I Know”, another cut from A Different Ship, and now we have a video for it. Per their press release:

Directed by Sean Pecknold (Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Grizzly Bear) the video stars Janet Pants as a happy-go-lucky dancing robot who is being returned to the factory by her owner. Pecknold explains, “It takes place in the not-so-distant future where you will be able to custom order human like robots for your pleasure, and although some people will probably still be partial to the human flesh, I think some conflicts of emotion will arise. Humans, love, sex, technology, dancing, the future!”

So yeah, I think you know what you’re in for here.

About Gravy and Biscuits

After being alive for over three years, Gravy and Biscuits finally found its home as an indie music e-zine.

The staff is a group of Southerners who love good music, from indie to bluegrass to electronic, and lots in between.

Review-wise, we aim to give both intimate and informative reviews without being pretentious. Anybody can use a thesaurus, but we have Southern charm.
