Mountain Goats

Indie rockers The Mountain Goats are a band from Claremont, California. The band often fuses nerd rock with folk to create a unique storytelling style to their music with a fair amount of snark. The Mountain Goats formed in 1991 and was a one-man-band for a long time under the helm of John Darnielle.

The band has had a revolving door of members and collaborators over the years, much like the often-compared band The Decemberists. It now has three official members, John Darnielle on vocals, guitar and keyboard, Peter Hughes on bass, and Jon Worster on drums.

About Gravy and Biscuits

After being alive for over three years, Gravy and Biscuits finally found its home as an indie music e-zine.

The staff is a group of Southerners who love good music, from indie to bluegrass to electronic, and lots in between.

Review-wise, we aim to give both intimate and informative reviews without being pretentious. Anybody can use a thesaurus, but we have Southern charm.
