Ra Ra Riot

Syracuse NY indie artists Ra Ra Riot are on their way to being huge indie rock stars. Made up of vocalist Wes Miles, bassist Mathieu Santos, guitarist Milo Bonacci, cellist Alexandra Lawn, violinist Rebecca Zeller, and drummer Gabriel Duquette, the group has won over audiences around the globe for their energetic live shows.

Ra Ra Riot often draw comparisons to fellow indie band Vampire Weekend, with good reason. They both have an ivy league college feel to their music, and even I have a hard time telling which band is which when one of their songs comes up in my mp3 player shuffle. The two bands are friends, and some of the members from both Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend even have joined together to create their own side project, Discovery.

Ra Ra Riot released The Rhumb Line in 2008 and The Orchard in 2010, which attracted tons of critical acclaim. We at Gravy and Biscuits even featured a Ra Ra Riot song, “Too Dramatic”, in one of our free Mix Tape downloads last year.
