Tapes 'n Tapes:Outside Review

Artist: Tapes n Tapes
Album: Outside
Label: Ibid Records

Minneapolis’ indie rock outfit Tapes ‘n Tapes released their third LP, Outside, via Ibid Records on January 11th. If you are new to listening to this band, you should go back to their previous albums and have a listen. Work your way up to this band and notice the changes and musicianship that these guys have made.

The opening track, “Badaboom”, is an anthem to all of you romantics out there, with a big drum beat that will certaintly make you move your feet thanks to drummer Jeremy Hanson and a poppy instrumental and vocal arrangement that keeps you humming and listening over and over again. This is the album’s definitive song, and a great opener if I’ve ever heard one.

Expect more from these guys, they keep growing and (believe it or not) keep getting better with every listen.

About

After being alive for over three years, Gravy and Biscuits finally found its home as an indie music e-zine. The staff is a group of Southerners who love good music, from indie to bluegrass to electronic, and lots in between. Review-wise, we aim to give both intimate and informative reviews without being pretentious. Anybody can use a thesaurus, but we have Southern charm.
