Dancing with the Stars alumni Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff have split, according to People. This is kind of like deja vu, since we heard this same story not too long ago, with rumors that Karina had left Mario Lopez for Mario, but there seems to be enough evidence to push it out of rumor status and into fact at this point.
“Karina has parted ways with her two year relationship with Mario Lopez,” says Smirnoff’s spokesperson. “The relationship wasn’t heading in the right direction.”
Lopez issued the following statement through his rep: “Karina and I have the utmost respect for each other. She is a phenomenal and talented woman. I support her always and feel blessed to have her in my life.”
So, will we see Karina out with Mario soon and Lopez coming out of the closet? You never know…those DWTS people are crazy! Stranger things have definitely happened, like Shannon Elizabeth dating that gay guy Derek Hough!
