Rambo:
In this latest Rambo installment, John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) has retreated to a simple life in a rural Thai village near the Burmese border, capturing snakes for local entertainers, and transporting roamers in his old PT boat. Following repeated pleas, Rambo helps ferry a group of Christian aid workers into war-torn Burma, where the local Karen villagers are regularly tortured and massacred by Major Tint’s sadistic soldiers. The humanitarian mission is going well, until the village is attacked and the missionaries are kidnapped, and Rambo is once again asked to transport - but this time a group of mercenaries, assembled by the missionaries’ minister on a deadly rescue mission. This time he doesn’t stay behind.
The Air I Breathe:
Forever linked together by ruthless crime boss Fingers (Andy Garcia) and a series of unpredictable twists of fate, the characters of THE AIR I BREATHE weave together in an existential study in luck, both the good and bad. Director Jieho Lee divides this vast tale into four threads, a timid businessman (Forest Whitaker) bets his life on a horse race after he discovers the fix is in, a fragile pop star (Sarah Michelle Gellar) finds her management contract unexpectedly in jeopardy; a gangster (Brendan Fraser) who sees the future must decide whether or not to follow his visions, and a doctor (Kevin Bacon) tries to save the love of his life from a deadly injury.
Cleaner:
A former cop (Samuel L. Jackson) who now earns a wage as a crime scene cleaner unknowingly participates in a cover-up at his latest job.
Grace is Gone:
Upon hearing his wife was killed in the Iraq war, a father (John Cusack) takes his two daughters on a road trip.
Cassandra’s Dream:
Two London brothers (Ewan McGregor, Colin Farrell) are hard-up for cash, and both have girls to look out for, too. When rich Uncle Howard comes to town and agrees to help them out, he admits his finances are under investigation, and he asks them to do him a favor and “take care of” an old business relation to keep his trouble under wraps - he says that they’re family, and since he always takes care of them, the least they could do is help him out this once, as they’re the only ones he can trust. The film follows their struggle with the immorality of this request and how each brother chooses to deal with it.
