Bernie Mac Dies for Real this Time

Rumors had been floating around all last week that comedian Bernie Mac had died from pneumonia. The rumors had gotten so bad that his publicist had to come out with a statement saying that no, no, he hasn’t died, he’s just in critical care from suffering from pneumonia.

However, he didn’t make it. And that’s really sad.

“Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital,” his publicist, Danica Smith, announced Saturday a statement from Los Angeles.

I never heard anything scandalous about Mac, and he seemed like a good guy. He was only 50 years old. You will be missed, Bernie!

PS: I realize that I am late on all the weekend news. I spent my weekend attending something called the Appalachian Hospital Free Healthcare Weekend. It was for anyone and everyone who wanted to take advantage of their services, and since bloggers don’t really have insurance, I went. I thought it would be really redneck, which is why I went initially, to play “Count the Mullets”, my favorite game. It wasn’t bad at all, and I actually got a phenomenal eye exam and a new pair of Armani eyeglasses. All the volunteers were super-nice, but I couldn’t believe how rude the people getting the free services were! I haven’t had a pair of glasses since high school (and my prescrip? -8.25 in the left and -7.5 in the right. If you wear glasses you know that’s BLIND!).
