There was a large drug bust today involving San Diego State University (SDSU). 96 arrests were made, 75 of those included students attending SDSU. Two fraternities on the SDSU campus have been named in connection: Theta Chi and Phi Kappa Psi. Apparently, a wise member of the Theta Chi sent out a mass email to his customers stating that he and his brothers would be out of town and would be unable to sell any drugs this weekend. He also told of a cocaine super sale, just in time for Mother’s Day!
Can one not think of a more intelligent way to conduct said business? Please, these guys deserve what they get! Hopefully this will not be just a slap on the wrists. In these trying times for the Greek collegiate life, you would think that people would try to do positive things to maintain the Greek system, though obviously not these guys!
This bust began in Feburary and had the codename “Operation Sudden Fall” that used undercover operators purchasing drugs from Fraternity members and allegedly had over a hundred separate drug buys . They raided the Theta Chi house along with some apartments, and found a laundry list of drugs, including ecstasy, cocaine, hash oil, and methamphetamine.

On the one hand I think they deserve punishment but on the other I dont think it should be so severe to ruin their future. Obviously with a little guidance these students could become very positive roll models in our society. I’m sure in a few years most of these people would have grown out of the whole drug scene anyway.
