tisdale Rumors that Ashley Tisdale has HIV are Untrue

Rumors that High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale is HIV positive are “completely untrue,” says her rep, Scott Appel. How did I manage to miss this rumor? I would have been all over that one like Ash on a nose job!

Several Internet posts Thursday said the actress/singer may have contracted the disease from her rhinoplasty procedure last year. By Friday the rumor mill kicked into overdrive causing some panicked fans to post YouTube videos to “Pray for Ashley.”

Another Internet site posted what it claimed was a statement from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. But Cedars-Sinai spokesperson Simi Singer tells PEOPLE: “We absolutely did not issue a release.”

Ashley, who is 22, is currently in Salt Lake City working on High School Musical 3. She’s 22 and playing in a high school movie? What’s up with that…grown-ups pretending to be in high school? Weren’t the Dawson’s Creek kids like, 30 when they made that show?

  3. HIV is a nasty disease. Once you get it, there is no cure for it. Safe sex and abstinence is the only way to avoid getting it.

It is quite scary that there is still no cure for HIV/AIDS and the only way we can fight it is by prevention. How long would it take our scientists to develop a cure or vaccine for this disease?

HIV is a disease that is still incurable today. We should always practice safe sex and also educate our people how to avoid the spread of this disease.
