This grim drama about the members of an elite police unit kicks off with a supercharged hostage scene straight out of a Tony Scott film. But from there, it’s strictly small-screen sameness with bargain-bin characters: Veronica Mars‘ Enrico Colantoni is the seen-it-all leader to a cocksure rookie, workaholic dad, tomboy sniper, etc. It’s nice to have fresh scripted material on the summer TV menu, but after an hour of dull wisecracks and predictable plotting, reheated Law & Order leftovers start looking pretty tasty.
